The technique used to create these delightful clay earrings is called 'Mokume Gane'. This is a wonderful method with which to design and create the most fantastic clay earrings. I create a clay foundation with carefully chosen colors and then compress and compress the slab. A deep flower texture mat is pressed into the slab. The next step is to very carefully and slowly slice into the slab, unveiling the myriad clay colors and a modern flower pattern.
Each slab is different, thus each pair of earrings will be different. The same colors and the same texture, but one-of-a-kind design will emerge.
I love using this technique as it creates a beautiful pattern each and every time I use it.
